World University Rangkings
Universitas Indonesia launched the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in 2010 as a global ranking system designed to evaluate higher education institutions’ commitment to and performance in implementing sustainability principles. The assessment is conducted through an online survey that collects data on universities’ policies, programs, and the implementation of sustainability practices worldwide.
Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis‘s participation in the UI GreenMetric reflects the institution’s commitment to developing a sustainable campus. Various initiatives have been undertaken to meet the ranking indicators, including environmental management, energy efficiency, waste management, and the delivery of education that supports sustainability. Through this participation, Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis aims to enhance the quality of campus management while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among its academic community.

Methodology and Rankings Framework
To achieve these objectives, the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings has established a set of assessment criteria that are practical for participating higher education institutions to implement while ensuring the reliability and credibility of the evaluation. The ranking framework is based on seven key criteria used to assess the sustainability performance of higher education institutions, namely:
- Setting and Infrastructure (SI)
- Energy and Climate Change (EC)
- Waste (WS)
- Water (WR)
- Transportation (TR)
- Education and Research (ED)
- Governance & Digitalization (GD)
